The Niwa Hodowla Plant Berry company is created by a group of enthusiasts employed to implement projects related to obtaining new varieties of berry plants.
The challenge undertaken by the company is a response to the growing social demand for varieties adapted to the climatic conditions in Poland, with high-quality fruit, high health benefits and optimized production technology.

Niwa jest jedyną prywatną firmą hodowlaną w Polsce o tak szerokim spektrum działalności.
Niwa is the only private breeding company in Poland with such a wide range of activities. The breeding program developed by the Niwa Company is the largest in Europe in terms of the number of species berry plants cultivated, the number of crosses performed annually and the number of evaluated ones duels.
As part of its operations, the Company cooperates with many growers from Poland and abroad to test clones at the highest selection level.

Niwa also cooperates with research units, expanding its own competences and capabilities conducted research. The results are published in popular science and scientific journals and on industry conferences.
As part of our commercial activities, we offer our own nursery material of the highest quality varieties.

Niwa conducts research aimed at obtaining new varieties also under co-financed programsby the European Union: POIR.01.01.01-00-0073/16, Fri. „Development of new varieties of berry plants (raspberry, strawberry, blackberry) for… processing with increased biological and utility value, including limited susceptibility to diseases and pests with features that make production highly profitable (including machine harvesting of raspberries and blackberries).” The project has been implemented since July 2016. Completion date for design work is December 2023.
POIR.01.01.01-00-0005/17, Fri. „Obtaining new varieties of black raspberries in the process of creative breeding and development of technology for targeted fruit production. The project has been implemented since April 2017 year. Completion date for design work is December 2023.
POIR.01.01.01-00-0005/17, Fri. “Development of new, high-quality varieties of raspberries, blackberries and strawberries meeting the requirements of the fresh fruit market with increased health-promoting properties. The project is being implemented has been since October 2020. Completion date for design work is December 2023.
RPMP.01.02.01-12-0305/17, Fri. „Development of new varieties of edible drywood adapted to the conditions climatic conditions of Poland, on dessert fruits and/or for processing, taking into account their high value health-promoting and development of simplified production technology.” The project was implemented from May 1, 2018 until April 30, 2021.
The main goal is to develop new genotypes of the species with valuable health properties edible drywood fruits and testing their suitability for the dessert fruit market and for other purposes processing industry, as well as the development of optimal cultivation methods.
Total value of the project: PLN 873,688.84
